American Family Wedding at Villa le Fontanelle

Posted on

Brighid and Ian are a young American couple who, after visiting Florence, chose to have their wedding in Villa le Fontanelle. They were each other’s first loves, and with a beautiful love story like theirs, they knew they had to have a beautiful wedding to match.

Their ceremony was officiated by a family friend in the chapel of the villa, which lays among the centuries-old holm oaks of the garden and the dense foliage where the bell tower stands with its original bell. Inside, a mosaic colors the walls, and under a “starry sky,” the majestic marble altar is illuminated by the sun’s rays that filter through the blown glass windows, revealing a wonderful view. The sounds of the harp filled the chapel with romantic music, creating a fairytale-like atmosphere.

The bride looked breathtaking with her long, natural hairstyle, a classy off-shoulder wedding dress, and a gorgeous bouquet of pink peonies and white anemones. The couple looked like glamorous actors from a romantic old Hollywood film.

After a tasty aperitif with jazzy music, the newlyweds and their guests moved to the indoor hall of the villa to seek solace from the chilly April weather. Inside, the guests found a cozy atmosphere with a fireplace and beautiful table settings. Everyone was treated to a carefully curated Italian menu and enjoyed Italian music as they dined. The wedding cake was millefoglie (“a thousand layers” of puff pastry and custard) with berries and fresh chantilly cream. Brighid and Ian prepared their traditional Italian cake together after the ceremony– their first task together as husband and wife!
