Sylvie Mies and Niclas Castello’s Royal Wedding in Florence.
Sylvie Mies (TV personality and model) and Niclas Castello (contemporary artist and author) tied the knot at the romantic Villa Cora in Florence, Italy, and the details of their wedding are absolutely exquisite.
Sylvie’s wedding dress was designed by designer Sharon Sever of Galia Lahav, who created a total of five dresses for the beautiful bride. Not only did she walk down the aisle wearing her dream dress, but she also had a separate custom Galia Lahav dress for the wedding dinner and another for the reception. She also changed her hair and makeup to complement each look, with stylings by Serena Goldenbaum (hair & makeup artist and international beauty coach). You can read more about her looks here.
The ceremony was a paragon of romance and regality. As Niclas stood with his groomsmen before an arch of white flowers, waiting for his bride, Sylvie was being escorted by her brother Daniel Meis and his husband Marcel down a white carpeted aisle outside the villa. There stood her son Damian Van Der Vaar, who was waiting for her with an elegant bouquet of white lilies of the valley.
The details of the ceremony were stunning. The guests were captivated by the betrotheds’ heartfelt and emotional vows; the rings were laid on a custom-made silk pillow with delicate French lace and hand-embroidered “Taf” by the famous Florentine store Taf Ricami e Tovagliati; and the newlyweds signed their ceremony papers with a gold pen inscribed with their initials.
In addition to admiring the beauty of the evening, the bride, groom, and guests all joyously celebrated with a cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. While the spouses were having their pictures taken by Tali Photography, the guests enjoyed the live DJ and saxophonist with cocktails and finger food. Dinner was at the marvelous Mirror Hall, where there were two long tables: one named “Venice” (the city where Sylvie and Niclas met) and the other named “Florence” (the city where they got married). Everyone enjoyed the delicious food amongst the decor and flowers as they were serenaded by a French band.
The wedding cake was a 4-layer “Secret Garden” naked cake, gorgeously complementing the natural beauty of Villa Cora. After drinking and dining, it was time to dance the night away! Sylvie gathered the crowd for the bouquet toss, and the bouquet was caught by her friend and influencer Riccardo Simonetti.
Sylvie and Niclas’s special day was one that will be remembered forever.
